One of my favorite quotes, “The days are so long but the years are so short” (-Gretchen Rubin) serves as a reminder to how fast time passes and how short a year can be. When our boys were babies (until Porter was 5), I was a full-time “stay at home” mom.I remember how the days dragged by….. filling the hours with mealtimes, playtime, nap time, chores! Seth would come home and ask, “What did you do today,” and a lot of days I couldn’t tell him.
All I knew is that I was exhausted, thehouse was a mess, I hadn’t showered and it was 6 o’clock. But looking back, these days seem so far off. We now have 2 in school, 8 and 9 years old and they are farfrom the baby years! They are growing little men with theirown personalities and agendas, and words can honestly not express how quickly it went by.
Everyone always says that, but until its you staring at the little boy who is turning 10 next month, its hard to understand. New baby plan families come in for their maternity sessions, then just like that, we are shooting their one year. Every time I see baby, they have changed immensely! In the chaos of every day life, we don’t see our children growing before our eyes. Thank heavens the camera sees it, documents it and serves as a reminder for these previous first days and year of life. Meet one of our favorite families from 2015, I think they would agree with everything I said above!
