A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of shooting Sarah’s bridals at Old Salem. Words cannot express how much I loved this session!
Myrtle Beach Wedding Photographer {Lesley Ann’s Bridals}
I was talking with a wedding planner friend about “Goodbyes” with clients after the wedding day has come and gone. I spend a good bit of time corresponding with clients pre wedding and shooting engagements and bridals etc. After sorting through their wedding photos, I think awww, I will miss this family! I am working on the blog post of their fabulous SC plantation wedding (on deck!) but I wanted to share Lesley Ann’s Bridals at Atalaya with you. I loved her dress! What a classy, southern bride! I also wanted to sneak in a few shots of her pre wedding bridals luncheon. I was born in raised in the south and these were hands down the best country ham biscuits ever (you know they wouldn’t let us out of the door with out a plate!). These ladies know how to plan an event and thought of every detail, Enjoy!
Myrtle Beach Family and Child Photographer {Sweet Family Time}
As most of you know, we recently re-located to the piedmont of NC (Pilot Mountain to be exact, right outside of Winston-Salem). As I build my business here and spend a lot of time shooting rural locations (we are in the COUNTRY), I quite frequently miss shooting on the beach. Isn’t it funny that I was a little tired of it by the time we moved? The sand, wind, harsh lighting! I now have the best of both worlds since I spend at least one weekend a month down there, I can make big plans for these shoots! I will be heading that way early June and the week is jam packed full of sessions, I can not wait to see the ocean and the sand……clients, new and old! This little guy was quite the little model at our Atalaya session! I look forward to seeing this sweet family in the future since I know Mom is interested in my DSLR workshop with that shiny new camera! This blog is long overdue, enjoy! Oh! And check this out, one of these photos was featured over on My Four Hens Photography Blog: http://myfourhensphotography.com/photographers/2012/04/11/m4h-facebook-friend-of-the-week-adele-lee-photography/
Winston Salem, Greensboro Wedding Photographer {Sean + Alex at Revolution Mill}
Sean and Alex promised forever and I was there to capture it all. The day stared and ended flawlessly although its now over and these images serve as a permanent reminder of the day their the story began. I can’t say enough kind words about this couple, their families, friends, and the perfect day they’ve been awaiting for over a year. After shooting the couples engagements in downtown Winston Salem (Their Engagements), Alex’s bridals (Her Bridals) and their wedding day, I must say that I will miss these two faces in front of my camera! They chose Revolution Mill Event Center in Greensboro NC, the exposed brick walls, iron gate and charming courtyard provided a lovely backdrop for their spring time wedding. I had my eye on a spot slightly off the path and below the venue for their first photographs as a married couple. A luminous little pocket of light shinned on the edge of the grass kindly waiting for us. Light is variable and moody, so when it cooperates in a moment like this I am forever thankful! These images of Alex and Sean immediately following their vows as husband and wife are some of my favorites to date. Thank you for allowing me to share in your beginning these past 4 months and I wish you days filled with laughter, joy and life with a cherry on top!
Pilot Mountain Mt Mount Airy Family Child Baby Photographer {Easter Minis!!!}
Since the move from Myrtle Beach to Pilot Mountain, I’ve recently reconnected with so many faces that we haven’t seen in a few years! Thanks to everyone who came out to the various locations for the Easter Mini Sessions this year, can you believe all these good looking kids?!?! Many of you braved the cold and the rain, so thank you for that! This is a tradition I will follow every year so if you missed it this time, check back in the Spring of 2013. There are a few spots left for Spring Lifestyle sessions and I am running a fabulous promotion in NC until June, please email me for details. Enjoy these sweet, sweet faces!
Pilot Mountain Mount Mt Airy Family Child Portrait Photographer {Sweet C Family}
Sometimes the stars are aligned and the combination of stunning light, a fun family and happy kiddos produces images like these. Of course every single client I have is different and wonderful in their own way, but I love their relaxed and laid back demeanor. I found this spot on the side of the road, adding to my husbands “list” of bizarre location scouting behavior. I admit, I like to play in alleyways, random fields, and pretty much anywhere that inspires me. The thing is, I don’t need anything fancy, just a fun backdrop and great lighting since the subjects are my main focus. I’ve always heard that when you finally “see” light, you find it everywhere…..very, very true. I would consider myself a natural light photographer when it comes to families, children and seniors. I do use flash when needed at wedding receptions and indoors on occasion, but I am most inspired by everything to offer outdoors. Some try to avoid sun-flares in camera, I like to find them and use them in my photographs…not for every photo of course but above is an example of what I love. Thanks to this sweet family for rolling around in the wet grass, tromping in a field and allowing me into your lives for an evening. You can really feel the love…enjoy!
Winston Salem Greensboro Wedding Photographer {Alex’s Bridals, Revolution Mill}
Revolution Mill in Greensboro is a dream venue for a wedding photographer, kudos to Alex who is from Winston, for thinking outside of the box! The Revolution Cotton Mill has been completely renovated while preserving the historical charm and adding a flare of rustic elegance. We knew it would be the perfect spot for Alex’s bridals a few months before her April wedding. She was a beautiful and classy bride this past weekend and I am thankful to have to have spent so much time with her over the past few months. Here is the 20×30 float wrap photograph that sat on an antique easel at the reception:
More to come soon of their wedding day at Revolution Mill this past weekend, Enjoy!
Pilot Mountain Family and Child Photographer {Sweet Family Session}
In the past month, I’ve traveled back and forth between Pilot Mountain and Myrtle Beach. Having a business in two places isn’t easy but its going very well so far! I love shooting the greys and blues of the ocean but I am also inspired by golden lit fields and the rural charm in this area. We live 10 minutes from downtown Pilot Mountain and I have a “wish” list of 20 places on the ride home for future sessions, the only key is getting permission out here in the country! Rolling hills, hayfields, the most fabulous barns and old buildings you have ever seen….its simplistic beauty. As soon as I can convince a client to be “on call” for a dreamy, sunrise, fog covered ground shoot, I will be all over it. It happens once a week or so in the spring. While driving my kids to school on those mornings, I regret not having my camera in tow although glad at the same time so I’m not tempted! I laugh when I think about walking my Kindergardener into the building for a tardy pass saying, “Oh, sorry, we had to stop for a quick photo shoot, the light was just too amazing to pass up!” That would be considered excused, right? I love this sweet family, their humor, and the love that they have for each other. Who knew the light would be so iridescent in a random spot I found in town! What an amazing backdrop for a little boy/superhero! I love my job and photos like these remind me of why everyday.
Winston Salem Engagement Photographer, Greensboro Wedding Photographer {Alex and Sean!}
Get ready, I have a lot to say about this session! Since our move from Myrtle Beach to Pilot Mountain NC, I have been dying to photograph a session in Downtown Winston Salem. I was born and raised in Winston Salem, our 2 children were born there and all of my family is within 15 mins! After spending 2 years at the beach, its like Christmas every week with everyone so close by! I knew Alex and Sean would love this downtown, urban setting and all of its glory. I randomly picked a spot to meet and we walked quite a ways, creating a very dynamic backdrop for their engagement session. I think working with clients before their wedding day is an absolute must, it gives us a chance to get to know each other a little. Since meeting Alex, I’ve looked forward to working with her and I’m thrilled to say that we will be seeing quite a bit of each other over the next few weeks, including her bridal session tomorrow! I was loving the moments after a jump, a dip or a skip which captured their real expressions and interactions. I will keep this is mind when shooting Sean and his groomsmen, he definitely calls for something creative and different! Alex is so stunning and will be a beautiful bride in April at Revolution Mill in Greensboro. Keep an eye out for much more to come from these 2, Enjoy!
Pilot Mountain, Mount Airy Family and Child Photographer {Sweet Country Life}
I love that I am shooting lots of rural settings since the move from Myrtle Beach to Pilot Mountain, NC. This family’s farm is 5 minutes up the road from our house, so you can see that we live in the “country”, like really. I do love it out here though, we can only see one neighbor from our front door and not a single soul from the back. Just rolling hills that will be full of hay, green grass and blue skies pretty soon…providing me with some awesome backdrops this spring. I’ve been preparing for this change by searching for old antique couches, trunks, chairs, and quilts. Most of my sessions in the next few months are planned within 10 minutes of our house, I’ve snapped about 20 spots on my cell phone in the area, safely keeping in my back pocket for clients! This move has given me a creative push and I am thrilled to share with you whats to come in the next few months. I photographed Bella and Mom at the beach last summer and she has grown into a little toddler! It was great to see them again!
